The Result pattern

For a few years, there is an upcoming trend of publishing results in terms of percentile along with score and the student’s respective ranks while there is a lot of confusion related to percentile. what does percentile mean? In common use percentile usually indicates that a certain amount of percentage falls under this percentile.

For Example, if an aspirant scores the 50th percentile that means 50% of the students of that list have scored below his/her marks which means the 50th percentile is equal to an average or a median value. You need to know that percentile and percentages don’t mean the same. The total score of NEET-UG is 720, if an aspirant scores 120 out of 720, his/her percentile may be 50 bit his actual percentage is approximately 18%.
